Q'alel Saqik

Después de la divisón de los pueblos en Chulimal, los Ajpop y Ajpop K'amja, junto con el Q'alel, nombran 20 oficios para el nuevo orden político. Uno de los nuevos puestos es el de Q'alel Saqik, un oficio cuyo nombre el lingüista k'iche' Sam Colop (2008: 205n364) afirma afirma ser sencillamente el Q'alel del linaje Saqik. Otros linajes en la lista incluyen el Q'alel de los Kaweq, llamado Q'alel nomás, el Q'alel de los Ajaw K'iche', llamado Q'alel Ajaw, y varios oficios militares. Se observa la ausencia del linaje Nija'ib'.

Anthropologist Allen J. Christenson (2007: 284) translates the name of this office as "Magistrate of the Zaquics," noting that it is one of the 20 positions named after the division of the towns in Chulimal. This office would be held by the Saqik lineage. Others in the list appear to be from the Kaweq and Ajaw K'iche' lineages. The list ends with military officers. The Nija'ib' lineage is missing from the list.
