Chilam B'alam

El Chilam B'alam es tal vez mejor llamado los Chilam B'alam, ya que así se nombran una serie de textos contados por la tradición oral y escritos en papel en el periodo pre-1492 hasta el siglo XVII en diversos pueblos mayas de Yucatán. Todos los textos relatan las filosofías e historias particulares de cada pueblo, pues hay relatos de Chumayel, Ixil y Maní, entre otros.
The Chilam B'alam is perhaps better called the Chilam B'alams, given that this is the title of a series of texts circulated by oral tradition and written on paper during the pre-1492 period through the seventeenth century throughout various towns in Yucatán. All of the texts describe the particular worldviews and histories of their towns, such as Chumayel, Ixil, and Maní, among others.
