Ch'o

Ch'o (ratón) es uno de los muchos animales que juega un rol importante en el libro k'iche'. Entre sus funciones claves se señala que es el ratón que habla con los personajes principales en la casa de Ixmukane y la milpa. Cuando se esconde en el chile que prepara la abuela, es el mismo ch'o que lleva a los gemelos a las herramientas necesarias para el juego de pelota en Xib'alb'a.

Ch'o (rat) is one of the many animals who play an important role in the K'iche' story. Among its critical narrative roles are its many exchanges with other characters in Ixmukane's house and the milpa. When the rat hides itself in the chile that Ixmukane prepares, he effectively tricks her into releasing the instruments that the Hero Twins will need to play the ballgame in Xib'alb'a.
