Junajpu Juyub'

Junajpu Juyub' is one of the mountains created by Zipacna. Mayanist scholar Allen J. Christenson (2007: 96n172) traces scholarly discussion of the volcano's location. He writes: "Edmondson and Recinos identify this volcano as Volcán de Agua, also located in the district of Sacatepequez, southeast of Antigua. Tedlock identifies it with Volcán de Acatenango, located in the same district. In either case, it must be a volcano located near Chigag as the Annals of the Cakchiquels describes it as 'standing abreast' of Chigag."

Sobre la montaña Junajpu Juyub', uno de los cerros creados por Zipacna, el destacado lingüista k'iche' Sam Colop (2008: 46fn56) cita al antropólogo Dennis Tedlock y señala así que "el Junajpu siempre ha sido identificado como el volcán de Agua; pero es más probable que este sea el volcán de Acatenango, como Tedlock (1996: 241) sugiere."
