Christenson (2007: nota 519) traduce el nombre del linaje Aj Q'ib'a Ja como "Los de la casa ingeniosa" ya que q'ib' quiere decir "listo, ingenioso, estudiante."

Christenson (2007: note 519) translates the name of the Ajkib'a Ja lineage “They of the Clever House," derived from the root noun q'ib' (kib), “sharp, clever, student.” K'iche' linguist Sam Colop (2008: 137n209) laments that nothing is known about this lineage outside of the Popol Wuj. Perhaps future research will provide insight into the history and culture of the Ajkiba Ja lineage.
